With a degree in Architecture from the University of Texas, Laura Burton, a top interior designer, worked for years as a manager in the high-tech industry. In 2004, she left corporate life to start her own business: the Laura Burton Interiors. All interior design projects by her design team have been published locally and nationally and have consistently earned awards in ASID competitions.
The main goals of this design studio are to collaborate with other industry professionals and to bring a broad range of expertise across the United States of America, from remodels and new construction to commercial and multi-family. Elegance with a touch of whimsy: the perfect definition to describe the modern interior design of this luxury home. With a fresh and eclectic contemporary line, the plan to create the unique design inside this modern house was to incorporate lovely, collected antiques and art, but to add also a few sleek and new modern furniture pieces.
Despite the elegance of the space, all the whimsical touches work their way in amidst the elegant surfaces and expensive antiques. In each space of this modern house, the design studio had fun with colorful accents such as pink, purple, and chartreuse, and enjoyed their furry stuffed goat who found a home by the corner windows.
Inside the space, there is possible to find unusual chairs, fun tile, and original art that speaks to the soul.

The only strategy used by the design studio for achieving a cohesive look was to create a neutral backdrop, with mostly white walls and gray-washed oak floors, and then to have fun with their fabulous art collection, fabrics, pillows, and interesting wall textures via wallpaper, high-gloss plaster, and tile.
This modern interior design project won the 1st Place Award of 2018 ASID Texas Legacy of Design in the Category of Whole House Contemporary. A unique combination of personality, creativity and artistic freedom is a priority of all the design team created by Laura Burton.
