Located by Brighton Beach in Melbourne’s south, the family’s luxury home was crafted to be a place of relaxation and sanctuary, a task undertaken by Miriam Fanning, principal and founder of Mim Design, who had worked with the same client four times previously. The brief was simple: make the house feel like an eternal holiday.

“They loved the idea of feeling like they were on holiday. Having previously worked together on a number of projects we became very good friends with many common design interests.” Fanning tells Vogue Living, describing the process as easygoing.

The family left the entire process of their luxury home‘s creation in their designer’s hands, however, they did have one specific request. They wanted them to create a space to house their extensive art collection. Are you enjoying these interior design ideas?
“We believe this project represents the original design philosophy based on a timeless look that showcased the use of authentic materials paired with a mild sense of whimsy and intensity that were essential in creating a home that reflected our clients’ love for life,” Fanning says of the final project.
