The Portuguese architect had a good starting point to convert one of the apartments of this manor house into a modern and functional home. The architect was clear that he wanted to maintain the original essence of the palace. That is why he rummaged through his history and attended to his privileged environment to find inspiration.  The challenge was to transfer that spirit to the interior of the house and keep it in all the spaces of the house, therefore the aim was to create a sense of continuity and unity.

Tiago sought to transmit that peace to the apartment through the textures and a palette of pastel colors, and sophisticated elements, while in parallel he decided to maintain the original scale of the palace, with its characteristic high ceilings, to preserve its grandiloquent character.

That conservative spirit has countered it with a comprehensive intervention and a redistribution of the spaces necessary to adapt the palace to the daily reality of the twenty-first century. Thus, the house has been structured into two floors: one for the kitchen, the bathroom, the living room and the common rooms; and one for the two master suites.

But the great triumph of Tiago has been to make spaces dialogue, living in the different times, styles and times. The selection of furniture has had a lot to do with it, because in each room there is old and contemporary furniture, designed by the architect himself, while modern works of art are intermingled with iconic pieces of the 20th century. Everything, to build a new life, without forgetting the lived.
