From the moment it opened its doors in the early twentieth century, The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid has remained one of the city’s most distinguished addresses. Located within Madrid’s renowned Paisaje de Luz, or Landscape of Light, the hotel stands in a UNESCO recognised World Heritage setting, surrounded by some of the capital’s most celebrated cultural institutions.

An Emblem of Cosmopolitan Madrid
Soon after opening, The Palace, became a preferred destination for Europe’s upper classes. During World War I, Spain’s neutrality transformed the hotel into a refuge for royalty and elite travellers. In the decades that followed, The Palace continued to embody international glamour, welcoming numerous Hollywood stars.

Where Craftsmanship and Legacy Converge
Inside The Palace restoration and design unfold as a celebration of craftsmanship. The renewed architectural elegance by Ruiz Larrea Arquitectura frames interiors conceived by Lázaro Rosa-Violán. As noted by Condé Nast, the designer drew inspiration from the hotel’s storied past and its iconic guests, from Picasso and Dalí to Lorca and Hemingway, translating legend into atmosphere through layered textures, bespoke details, and timeless sophistication.

Within the rooms, the interiors strike a balance between classic architectural character and contemporary refinement. Carefully selected materials, bespoke furnishings, and a restrained layering of textures create spaces that feel both composed and inviting. Comfort is expressed through tactile details, from beds dressed in Frette linens to bathroom amenities by Le Chemin by Byredo, created exclusively for the Luxury Collection. The result is an atmosphere of quiet sophistication, where comfort and elegance coexist effortlessly.
La Cúpula Restaurant & Bar
Beneath the luminous stained-glass dome, La Cúpula Restaurant & Bar emerges as one of The Palace’s most captivating spaces. The kitchen is guided by Portuguese chef Nuno Matos — a detail that resonates with particular pride for us at Boca do Lobo, as a Portuguese brand — whose arrival introduces a distinctive perspective shaped by precision, restraint, and deep respect for culinary heritage. His menus celebrate seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, allowing authenticity and purity of flavour to lead the experience.

The bar continues the hotel’s long-standing affinity with cocktail culture. Signature classics remain the foundation, complemented by refined contemporary creations that feel both relevant and timeless. Together, cuisine and mixology sustain the social energy that has always animated The Palace.

Details that Define Distinction
At The Palace, grandeur is not defined by scale alone, but by the precision of its details. From the staff uniforms designed by Juanjo Oliva, whose contemporary elegance complements the hotel’s renewed identity, to the meticulously restored architectural features, layered interiors, and curated sensory experiences, every element contributes to a cohesive expression of refined luxury. Here, sophistication reveals itself subtly, confirming that true luxury is, and has always been, found in the details.
