But, has Boca do Lobo already proved, design stops for no one so, clearly, many were the luxury design brands that quickly adapted to the “new normal” and released new ways of connecting to the public, and furniture designs that answer their current needs.

During a time when our social lives have become largely restricted to parks, patios, and terraces, the emphasis on outdoor spaces continues with category launches from Fendi Casa, B&B Italia, and others. With homes transformed into remote offices, manufacturers are equipped to meet demands with modular solutions and multipurpose pieces for the living room.

Boca do Lobo

Boca do Lobo proved to be on top of their game when 2020 marked the brand’s 15th-anniversary celebration, and nothing could slow us down. When faced with the advertises of the modern world, we rose to the occasion by premiering several groundbreaking projects, such as the House of Boca do Lobo, while at the same time celebrating our 15-year legacy. For Salone del Mobile, many surprises were instore, one of them being the release of the Voltaire Sideboard.

Furniture Design Debuts You Would've Discovered At Salone del Mobile (11) — A contemporary sideboard enveloped by manually sculptured panels with decorative elements finished in high gloss black lacquer. The statement twist lies on the asymmetrical hand-hammered fitting of a golden polished brass sheet on the right side of the top, and base detail.

Furniture Design Debuts You Would've Discovered At Salone del Mobile (10) — Four doors carry the sculpted black elements into its interior, opening to a striking bronze mirror on the back, and one glass shelf.

The statement sideboard was conceived to enrich any living space, a masterpiece that carries centuries of history and finest craftsmanship into a contemporary design. Inspired by the French Court’s greatness and splendour of the XVII century, it depicts the architectural and artistic landmarks of the age, alongside, it pays tribute to an era of great thinkers. Known for his ideals of a free and liberal society, Voltaire has become synonymous with the ‘Enlightenment’ due to the philosopher’s extraordinary wit, and his deist beliefs, not by faith, but rather by reason.

B&B Italia

With the Oh, It Rains! collection, B&B Italia launches its first-ever collaboration with French design legend Philippe Starck. The outdoor sofa made of water-repellent materials features an adjustable backrest, which can fold over the cushion into a neat box during inclement weather.

Fendi Casa

The sleek new Anna armchair from Fendi Casa features graphic, striped upholstery and nods to the architecture of the Roman Colosseum. Exactly 144 symmetrical arches adorn the leather-wrapped arms and back.

Artemest

Artemest, which spotlights the work of top-tier artisans and craftspeople across Italy, adds dozens of new and established works to its offerings this month, including three Memphis Milano ceramic vases by Roger Selden.

Molteni

Recalling the modern Mad Men–era furniture designs of the ’60s in America, Vincent Van Duysen’s Octave sofa system for Molteni features structured seat cushions perched on extruded steel legs. With modular parts that include leather trays, adjustable backrests, and more, the system is uniquely equipped for a home office setting.

Cappellini

Patricia Urquiola’s innovative Lud’o lounge chair for Cappellini is a piece of furniture design that can transform with the seasons—or your mood. The chair’s inner structure of recycled plastic wears a fabric covering that can be changed at the user’s discretion. “This is how a piece of furniture can live more lives,” explains Urquiola in a statement.

Moroso

Designed by Swiss-Argentinian designer Alfredo Haberli, Moroso’s new Taba collection comprises eight sinuous pieces of multifunctional furniture designs, make it ideal for versatile settings.

Armani Casa

The Puro table—the latest in Armani Casa’s suite of bridge-shaped side tables—shimmers with green quartzite from South America.

Vitra

Designed by German talent Konstantin Grcic for Vitra, the Citizen chair is all about flexibility. The seat is fixed to a swivel base by three cables, allowing a range of movement, while the slingback envelops the user to prohibit slouching. Choose from high-back or low-back styles and a range of upholstery options.

Salvatori

Natural stone purveyor Salvatori has partnered with Yabu Pushelberg on Anima, an attractive bathroom range available in four stones: Bianco Carrara, Crema d’Orcia, Pietra d’Avola, and Gris du Marais.

Roche Bobois

The trend of comfy, bulbous shapes in the living room continues with the Blogger sofa, designed by Roberto Tapinassi and Murizio Manzoni for Roche Bobois.
