Paris Design Week 2025 has once again transformed the City of Light into the epicenter of global design innovation. From historic monuments reimagined through contemporary interventions to immersive installations that challenge our sensory expectations, this 15th edition marked a powerful return to physical experience and emotional resonance in design. For Boca do Lobo, it is essential to not only witness but celebrate the craft, artistry, and bold storytelling that continues to define the evolving language of luxury design.

A Stage for Experimental Beauty
One of the most captivating installations this year was “Coraux de la Liberté” by French artist Aude Franjou, who wrapped the Colonne de Juillet at Place de la Bastille in monumental strands of hand-twisted linen. This powerful gesture transformed the historical column into a living symbol of resilience, freedom, and organic regeneration, themes that deeply resonate with the ethos of handcrafted luxury.
Equally striking was “Folie”, a multisensory oasis conceived by designers Lucas Huillet and Alexandre Helwani on the terrace of the Hôtel de Sully. The installation blended oversized textile forms and ambient scent design by Amandine Clerc‑Marie, creating a dreamlike pause within the city, a contemporary ‘folie’ in the best sense: irrational, artistic, and deeply human.
Design as Emotion, Material as Memory
Throughout the week, material storytelling was at the forefront. At the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, Sophia Taillet’s kinetic sculpture “Silent Dance” used mirrored surfaces to explore the relationship between nature, time, and perception, a poetic expression of design in motion.
In the courtyard of Hôtel d’Albret, Marianna Ladreyt’s “Plastic Glamping” offered a critical yet playful take on sustainability and aesthetic reuse. Inflatable forms, vintage furniture, and recycled objects were arranged in a theatrical mise-en-scène, reminding visitors that luxury can, and should, embrace circularity without losing identity.
Boca do Lobo and Portuguese Creativity on Display
Boca do Lobo proudly participated in Paris Design Week 2025, reinforcing its commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. Among the highlights is the curated exhibition Re. MADE IN PORTUGAL, naturally led by internationally acclaimed Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva. This showcase highlights Portuguese creativity, artisanal tradition, sustainable innovation, and regenerative design, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to explore original, 100% Made in Portugal creations.
A New Chapter for Design Houses
The Paris Design Week also marked the grand opening of RH’s flagship gallery on the Champs‑Élysées, a seven-story celebration of furniture, objects, and curated experiences. Housed in a historic building, the space merges the worlds of design, dining, and fine art, pushing the boundaries of what a design showroom can be.
The Power of Emerging Talent
One of the most compelling aspects of this year’s edition was the strong presence of emerging voices. The Paris Design Week Factory, as well as the curated space “Le 84” on Rue de Turenne, showcased bold new perspectives from young designers, independent studios, and recent graduates. This energy brings new textures and tensions to the world of collectible design, challenging conventional hierarchies and expanding the creative conversation.
Beyond Trends: A Shift in Design Philosophy
What emerged clearly from Paris Design Week 2025 was not just a list of aesthetic trends, but a broader shift in design philosophy. There is a return to tactility, to raw yet refined materials, and to storytelling that is both personal and universal. This aligns deeply with Boca do Lobo’s vision: design not as decoration, but as an emotional experience, sculptural, sensory, and soulful.
As Paris continues to be a beacon of culture and creativity, the 2025 edition of its Design Week reminded us that luxury is not simply about perfection; it is about meaning. It is about design that dares to feel, provoke, and inspire. In this spirit, Boca do Lobo remains committed to creating pieces that echo this dialogue between art, history, and innovation.
