Joyce Wang Studio has unveiled the Mandarin Oriental Penthouse in the newly renovated Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. The sumptuous three bedroom penthouse is reminiscent of a luxury London apartment, with bespoke furniture of unparalleled quality and finish. Inspired by the hotel’s unique location, every detail is inspired by the park and the ever-changing sky above the city.
To curate this rare tranquillity in the heart of London, the studio has custom-made furniture pieces and layered lush materials in soft, muted colours to create an overall sense of understated, relaxed luxury.
The design narrative runs through the rest of the hotel: a revival of 1920s Century Golden Age travel combined with signature silhouettes from the era, including Art Deco details integrated with park-inspired botanical textures and colours.
The lights of the Penthouse Suites hotel refer to the design of the Crown Jewels collection; the studio has interpreted their geometries and sockets as luminous jewels. Opal glass wall lights resemble pearls set like precious stones, flanking each side of the individually designed master bed.
